Across Cultures is my day job.

I wrote Cultural Intelligence: A Guide to Working with People from Other Cultures and published it with Intercultural Press in 2004. It's now in it's second printing and has been translated into Korean and two forms of Chinese. I illustrated it too, and it's quirky to see the people in my drawings speaking in Chinese or Korean captions...

Cultural Intelligence is the first plain-English guide of its type. I wrote it using clear, straightforward (non-academic) language because so many culture books are needlessly complicated. So it's easy to read, yet it looks at meaningful culture concepts that are highly relevant to today's professionals who work and interact with people from other cultures.

The book is being adopted pretty widely as a college and graduate-level text in intercultural studies classes. Professor Regina Rowland said, "It's the only book my students don't whine about having to buy".

The Peterson Cultural Style Indicator™ is analogous to the Myers-Briggs, except it measures cultural style, versus personality style.

Over 15,000 people have taken it. People use it in intercultural studies classes, business settings, military, non-profit, health care... It uses the same kind of plain-English approach as Cultural Intelligence, and is based on the same culture ideas.

The above is mostly my professional profile. I've also worked occasionally as a part time MBA professor (my Ph.D. is in Second Languages and Cultures). But most of my identity and passion is outside of work stuff: photography, illustrating, writing, building some things, tearing other things apart, hosting a number of websites, etc.
